Hey everybody! I hope you guys are enjoying my reviews that I’ve been posting back to back recently. Today I have a review for MAC’s Velvet Teddy lipstick. It is a matte warm, pinky nude with a brown undertone. I have been loving these pinky nude shades recently so much, and I’ve gone through a few lipsticks to get here, but I finally found it. There is nothing that’s too cool toned about this lipstick, or particularly too pink about it. I just love how it looks on my NW25-30 skin.
I tried several lipsticks, but they always ended up looking too pink on my lips, and the contrast to my skin tone just didn’t look right. But with the amount of brown and warm undertones this has, I think it compliments my skin and most other skin tones very nicely.
This is what the packaging looks like:

MAC Velvet Teddy is probably one of the most hydrating matte lipsticks I’ve tried. It also doesn’t accentuate any dry patches on your lips, but I still recommend scrubbing your lips before applying any lippy on them! The colour of MAC Velvet Teddy is very unique in my opinion. It’s a light brown colour with a slight red undertone to it. Another lip combo for the Spice lip liner is Velvet Teddy lipstick which is a deep-tone beige that looks fantastic on olive and tanned skin. If you don’t like your lip liner to stand out more than your lipstick then this lipstick and lip liner combination is a great combo as they have similar tones. Kinda Sexy is a stunning shade by MAC which is a neutral pinky-rose color. You could almost describe it as coral. With warm undertones and a satin finish, this color is great for those warm skin. A great lip combo for Kinda Sexy is the Spice lip liner which has a pink cinnamon tone. Soft and dusky, you can expect this lipstick and lip liner combination to be a perfect neutral lip combo for any.

I really liked Kinda Sexy and Brave, which are very similar to this shade, but this shade completely blew me out of the water. It’s a matte formulation, but it’s not at all drying. I used a bit of lip balm underneath, I always love applying a clear coat of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment underneath any lipstick or lip gloss because it automatically gives my lips a healthy and plump effect, and moisturizes them to perfection.
The lipstick wore for about 3 to 4 hours, and I’m sure it would’ve lasted longer, but I honestly can’t stand even the thought of eating with anything on my lips. I always have to wipe it off beforehand because I know I would spend my entire meal just trying to make sure my lipstick doesn’t transfer onto my burger or something. Am I alone in this? Hopefully not!
The one downside is it is very moisturizing, but it does transfer. I did a kiss test to the back of my hand, a napkin, and accidentally with my six month old’s cheeks, and they transferred onto everything. I would rather it not transfer, but it doesn’t bother me all too much because I simply adore this color.
One upside is I found that I don’t even need to bother with a lip liner when using this lipstick. It just goes on so creamy and smooth, and I’m sure a lip liner may make it more precise, and help it to last longer, but honestly it applied perfectly without, so I didn’t find the need to apply one.

Lipstick on me:
Overall, I would give this a 100/5. I am in love with it, I think I finally found my perfect shade. If you’ve been hesitant in buying this, I would say just go for it! You won’t regret it. It’s such a universally flattering color, I am sure it would look amazing on just about anybody. At least go to a MAC store and swatch it. You will fall in love.
